Our Work
Since 2006, Jhamtse Gatsal has grown to become a model Community and Learning Center that is inspiring purposeful living on a local, national and global level.
Our Work, rooted in love and compassion, is rekindling the human spirit with transformative education, sustainable development, and social entrepreneurship.
~ Lobsang Phuntsok, Founder and Director
a model forEducating Changemakers
Our integrative approach of educating the heart, mind, and body starts with the adults who are transformed by Jhamtse (love and compassion). From this deep Jhamtse connection, our adults cultivate in every child the compassion to nurture, wisdom to guide, and skill to serve to become contributing members of society and leaders of the future.
We all have within us the seeds of compassion to heal ourselves and the world around us.With the right nurturance and the right environment, these seeds will take root and flourish within us.
~ Lobsang Phuntsok, Founder and Director
a model forSustainable Living
We take care of our precious resources to live responsibly with Mother Earth and the larger community we are a part of. From organic farming and natural construction to plastic recycling and clean energy, we share our practices as a source of action and social entrepreneurship.

Above all be the generation that acts. You may be the first generation in history to face the very real possibility of the extinction of life on our shared planet, but you are also the last one that will be able to do something about it.
